Jieqing Zhang
Jieqing Zhang brings over 20 years of professional experience in environmental policy and governance at the national, regional, and global levels. Before joining NRDC in 2021, she served as deputy director-general of the International Cooperation Department under the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and as deputy director of the China-ASEAN Environmental Cooperation Center. Zhang has been deeply involved in international governance processes and acted as the chief negotiator in the rules-setting of various international environmental conventions. Zhang has rich knowledge and deep insight on international environmental issues and strong coordination skills to bring different parties and stakeholders together for collaboration. By developing and implementing World Bank projects, GEF projects, and other international environmental projects, she is also knowledgeable about project management at the ground level. She holds a bachelor's degree from Beijing International Studies University and a master's degree from Renmin University of China. Zhang is based in NRDC's Beijing office.
