Joe O'Brien-Applegate provides technical expertise and policy solutions for building decarbonization throughout the East Coast and in the Midwest. He works closely with advocacy groups, policymakers, and other stakeholders to develop and implement strategies for building electrification and energy efficiency. He has experience in building emissions standards, utility energy efficiency programs, geothermal heating and cooling, and other clean energy and equity issues. O'Brien-Applegate holds a B.A. in international relations with a minor in physics from the College of William & Mary and an M.S. in environmental policy from Bard College. He is based in NRDC's New York office.
