Joel Scata

Senior Attorney, Environmental Health

Joel Scata focuses on issues related to preparing the United States for water-related impacts of climate change, including federal flood policy reform and adapting to sea-level rise. Prior to joining NRDC in 2014, Scata served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Mali, working to conserve land threatened by desertification. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Connecticut College and a dual JD from American University Washington College of Law and Monash University Law School. He is based in NRDC's Chicago office.
