Pete Budden (he/him)
Advocate, Climate & Clean Energy Program
Pete Budden leads NRDC's global and U.S. regional-level hydrogen policy work. Prior to joining NRDC, Budden researched next-generation solar energy technology, earning his PhD in physics and undertaking a postdoctoral fellowship. He also worked for the Climate Change Committee in the United Kingdom as an industrial decarbonization analyst, where he modeled decarbonization pathways for the UK industrial sector, assessing the emissions reductions potential of competing technologies, including hydrogen. His work informed the UK’s 2030 NDC and Sixth Carbon Budget targets. Budden graduated from the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford. He is based in NRDC's New York office.
