Sheryl Carter

Senior Strategist, Power Sector, Climate & Energy

Sheryl Carter oversees NRDC’s work in the power sector—transforming the energy system to reduce its public health, environmental, and climate impacts, as well as increase energy equity and affordability. Carter, who serves on the Electric Power Research Institute Advisory Council, has represented NRDC in numerous collaboratives, regulatory proceedings, rule makings, and legislative efforts across the country. In 2008, she received the Clean Power Champion Award from the Center for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Technologies. Carter holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a master’s in public affairs from the University of Minnesota. She is based in San Francisco.
