Dr. Simon Mui
Simon Mui manages NRDC’s state and federal advocacy on clean vehicle policies in the U.S. with over twenty years of experience working to zero out transportation pollution domestically and internationally. Since joining NRDC in 2008, he has worked with partners on an array of successful policy and legislative campaigns to secure major wins, including on zero emission vehicle programs, state and federal greenhouse gas emission standards, clean vehicle incentive programs, and clean energy laws. Prior to joining NRDC, Mui worked at the Transportation & Climate division at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where he coauthored studies on plug-in electric vehicles and climate-mitigation strategies. He also served as a fellow at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and worked in the private sector developing lithium-ion battery technologies. He holds two bachelor’s degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, a master’s degree in technology and policy, and a Ph.D. in engineering from MIT. He is based in NRDC’s San Francisco office.
